Wow, this is an outstanding book, so many couple are just like Daniel and Lizzy, a must read for you. Very good and hard to stop reading!
This story is listed as a Christian romance but it is much more a story about real life struggles and the consequences of life choices made apart from God. Lizzy is an educated young woman who marries a young man she does not know well and who turns out to have an alcohol problem. The husband crosses the line into domestic violence and I'd like to see this aspect of the relationship dealt with more strongly as it seems a little glossed over. This novel has the potential to reach and speak to women of faith who suffer in similar circumstances….a heavy responsibility for the author.
Lingering shadows is well written and the story pulled me in, and I have high hopes for the rest of the series. Readers are left with a cliff hanger of an ending but given the plot, it made total sense. Kudos to the author for not shying away from some touch topics.
I have read several of Juliette Duncan's books and loved all of them! This book follows the struggles of Lizzy and Daniel and feels like real things people struggle with in life. The book was hard to put down even though I could only read it for a short bit each time. When I picked it up each time, it was so easy to resume and brought me right back into the story. When I find an author I love, I have to read every book they right. Juliette Duncan is an amazing writer and each book has not disappointed me. I enjoy the Christian elements of her writing and her ability to catch my attention easily. Thanks for another great story!
This story is true to life. People fall away and come back. Christians struggle and when we turn back and cry out to Abba Father He answers. I am excited to read book 2 and continue on this journey with Daniel And Lizzy.
I really enjoyed this story. We don't know how we would handle the situation this young wife was dealing with unless we walked in her shoes. She looked to God for wisdom and strength. My heart ached for the hurt and abuse her husband put her through. Looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Once I started reading it, I couldn't stop. I'm only pausing long enough to write this review before I go onto book two. You can't help but pull for both of the individuals in this story. You hope that Daniel over comes his problems. I even find myself praying for him. I lent my support to Lizzy, praying for Daniel, hoping he finds his way to his relationship with God. A great read.
